Samw try a couple of actinics onthere with the MH, I think you will be very happy.

If you get another 250 one on either side of the brace you wont see the brace at all. My tank has a brace.

Chris, yes, I thought about that. But I already think the heat from 1 MH lamp is hot enough in my bedroom. Not to mention the real reason which is that the cost to buy and run another MH system is not in the budget. :)

Steve, I am definitely going to supplement with PC's (probably be either the 96W Smartlite or the 55W 9325K). Right now, I have the 96W Smartlite at 1.5 feet from the water since it is on the same board that the pendant is hanging from. Here's a pic with the smartlite on from last night. The brace shadow is lessened. Hopefully, it'll be even better once I lower it and enclose the bulb in reflective material.
