The posters who replied are all correct.
Your tank is too small for tangs. Wait until you decide to set up a large tank and add tangs at that time. Thank you |
I hate to be part of the tang, but yeah you should have at 5 feet of swimming space for most tangs

Tangs are swimmers...tank size 120 and up:onfire:

I agree. I feel guilty sometimes for having one 4" tang in a 90g, even with big open swimming lanes...
I would vote 120 & up for any tang. It's the hard, sad truth... |
I have a 120 (24x24x48) with extenal overflows so it's a full 2ft x 2ft x 4ft. I owned a tang in my last tank which was a 4ft 75gal. In my opinion a tang needs more than 4ft to be comfortable. I won't have another tank until I upgrade to my next tank which is a 6ft 230gal. In smaller tanks fish such as tangs seem to swim laps. They don't act naturally when they're 'crammed' into the environment they're given, especially when they have to share that space with other fish.

Yeah. I have a Yellow Tang in a 140 gallon, 4 1/2' long X 2' X 2' deep and he is not as happy as he should be..... He gets kinda spastic once in a while.
