I saw your clam at the store the other day and it looked fine. (Oh and by the way my tank is fine and there was never a crash. I heard from Daniel that you told him it had but that isn't the case.:biggrin: I had a few problems but it is rebounding nicely).

I always scrubbed mine under tepid tap water, a clam guru told me this. Upside down of course, and don't try it just cause it worked for me. :biggrin:

This works especially well for the pesky little snails that like to eat at clams.

Thats what i thought to. I was pretty sure it looked okay.

In the mean time i think i will sit and wait a few days and see how it looks. I think it may be catching a little current as we'll which may be pushing that part of the mantle up. Now that i have removed the nem it is not scrunched up at all just seems like it is turned up a little.
I will post on the weekend with some new pics and see what everyone thinks:)

Dudes you HAVE to take some pictures and let us see! I'd love to see them if they are tapetum.. :)

Yep that is what it is. And what really sucks is i killed the first one not knowing what it was and it was making the mantle on the clam curl up. I will try and get a pic of it tonite and post it. There are 2 on the mantle now. Very rainbow like colours.

Ya wanna sell 'em??? Or wait until they split .. please put my name on the waitlist! (No I'm serious, if you want to sell them, let me know .. you might have noticed I'm something of an anemone geek, I haven't seen tapetum up here ... well .. actually, I've never seen tapetum in person, but would love to find me one!! We'll find a way to remove them off the clam without hurting either the anemone or clam..)
