Two things that worked for me:

i) make sure you have the right amount of holes in the cap of the Stockman Standpipe (right 'breathing')

ii) if your overflow piping runs straight down into your sump reduce the piping size, make a horizontal U with the reduced size pipe, submerge the reduced overflow pipe under the water level, and add a 45 elbow at the very bottom

Try putting a ball valve inline on the overflow and adjust that till the sound dies down.

Seriak, yeah, I found I could not completely solve the burping while the pipe was vertical all the way. Adding the section where it goes horizontal and then into a 45 degree angle, has made the water flow much more constant/laminar, not subject to sudden variations.

I forgot to mention mine go horizontal for almost as long as they go vertical. Horizontal is under the main tank, before entering the sump. Also I found with my Stockman, if I had too much air, it would cause burping problems, you really need to get just the correct amount of air, then the entire line should be full of water, and should be silent. This is how the Stockman works. Durso works slightly different, since it requires a restriction in the line.

My pump is pumping 1200gal and my durso is 1"1/2 going to a 1"1/4 bulkhead to a 90elbow and than another 90 elbow that is on the sump and on to bio-balls the gurguling sound down there is terrible, please help I already went thru a few caps trying to get the size of hole right but with no results...

Drill a bunch of holes in the cap.. like 10 and then cover and uncover them with duct tape till you find the correct setting.
Oh BTW you got my lucky post #1000  Yea for me 8)
