That said even if you do have a bad test kit there seems to be no recourse at the moment because Habib (and therefore salifert) have appeared to have vanished off the face of the earth

I am aware of the Salifert Alk test issues. I think my kit is fine as it is giving me logical results when I test the main tank

My defective sailfert alk test read a little high on the tank water and just plain stupid high on freshly mixed water. I'm not sure why there was a difference.

I mix 37ml magnesium first, let it mix for awile, then add about 3/4 tsp of calcium and mix for the rest of the day, then add salt. I,m currently using Ben,s, {chemmaster}, additives.
