Bruzer 02-27-2007 02:00 AM

how noisey is that sump you made?? because i have my tank in my livingroom

Borderjumper 02-27-2007 03:42 AM

The sump itself is quiet, as we have the drains terminating partially submurged with just a little air space at the top so it doesnt "glug".. now mind you, we dont have the skimmer in yet.
There is some noise at the display from the overflow pipe.

Hmm apparently my measurements are off... one sec...

Opps my bad....

its 36 X 12 X 18.5

Dennis-Pir 03-01-2007 08:38 PM

How much did the plumbing cost for you??

And also do you think it would be easier to use flexible tubing instead? or to use the pvc pipe?

Borderjumper 03-04-2007 06:10 AM

I didnt keep track of the plumbing. The valves and quick disconnects are the most expensive parts. I think it was a bit over 100$. What sucks is you have to buy an 8 ft stick of pipe. We took a saw with use and cut it all in half to fit into my car.

Dennis-Pir 03-06-2007 05:27 AM

Well just went and bought all the things that I need plumbing wise and I semi siliconed my overflow together (not to the tank yet)... I got my baffles cut but they are to high so tommorrow or the next I have to get them recut because they are all 14" high and I need more of a waterfall 'effect'....

andsoitgoes 03-06-2007 02:38 PM

why not just sand the tops down a few inches? They're acrylic, right? You could even score them if they're thin enough.

Dennis-Pir 03-07-2007 05:56 AM

Hmm i guess I could try that then rather bringing it to the shop to get cut and pay for that........

Hmm good call

Or actually I am going at my 'parents' house and they have a cutter
