Working at home. It's a normal work day for me since I'm "self-employed" so stat or no stat, doesn't matter. If there's work to be done, gotta do it.

Do you normally work Saturdays? If so, did you get that day off? (With regular pay).
I'm not totally up on the labour laws but it's my understanding that if a stat falls on a day you work then you either get the day off with straight time pay or you work it and get paid time and a half in addition to your regular pay. (Some people see this as double time and a half). If the stat falls on a day you don't work, such as a weekend, then you are entitled to either the Friday or the Monday as the stat. (ie: either of those days off with straight time pay, or work the day and get the extra pay). I'm pretty sure anyone that has a job is entitled to compensation one way or the other, whether they work the stat or not. I know I get 8 hours pay for every stat I don't work and compensated accordingly for every stat I do.
IMO, your getting ripped off.
Edit: Maybe it's different in Alberta, but I doubt it. You guys are rich.

If the stat falls on a not normally worked day, for example saturday, you arnt entitled to any sort of compensation. Many places give you an extra day off but that is at there discretion.
