does this stuff go sexual , would it be okay in your main tank for added color and growth?
|
No not a variety of caulerpa (no matter what species you believe it is), doesn't go sexual. But - My yellow tang and 6bar angel love to nip at it.

Hey Andy, did that stuff come from me? It did right?

All gone for now
Albert - it may have, I've gotten red macros from a variety of people - some have survived some haven't, strangely I've never tried to tag them to keep track of who supplied what ;) |
Just noticed this thread as I was searching for some halymenia for my sump. From what I've had previously, halymenia is soft and slippery.
Here's a good ID page. There's a "Search for:" textbox at the bottom. http://www.algaebase.org/PictureSearch.lasso? I guess they both look the same. Here's what some species of Halymenia looks like: http://www.botany.hawaii.edu/GradStu.../Halymenia.jpg http://www.nss.org.sg/singaporewater...4320lo_000.jpg http://www.algaebase.org/webthumbs/H...a_floresii.jpg |
Yup, my red halimenia looks like picture number 2.
