Albert - c'mon lets see it... 70$ total cost (30$ for the 302, 20$ for the penguin, then 20$ in parts) retail pricing not wholesale... C'mon lets see it...

Build a chiller!

Tubing+powerhead+hole in freezer=chiller? Haha.

Looks great! Good savings!

EZ

Take used 3 gallon water jug. Add bioball mod to maxijet. put a stopper in the top of jug and run a vinyl tube out from that (drain). One Uniseal to plumb in a feed. Another to plumb the output. Done.

Total cost:

Maxijet $35
Bioball $... 0.25?
Jug $.... $5.00 tops?
Uniseals $5.00 tops
Vinyl tube @ $0.50/foot = $1.50

What now Andy? WHAT?

GGTHXNORE.

C'mon albert come up with something original and build it... Stealing the 5g water jug design aint cutting it.

Never mind the fact you can't open it up to clean it... Never mind the lack of tuneability to adjust to fluctuating water levels. Should I even talk efficiency since you've got a single pump feeding, and no recirculation? 99% of a skimmer ain't adding water and air, otherwise jebo would rule the world.

albert_dao 06-07-2006 12:36 AM

What are you talking about? It IS a recirc. You feed it off your main line.

learn2read Andy.

If you want original, then keep everything the same but swap the jug with rectangular tote container w/ lid. cut out the inside of the lid and glue a rectangular oil funnel to it. Put a vinyl house on the nib of the funnel.

The door is over there Andy...
