Next time I would drip twice as long.
I don't bother floating the bags. |
I also increase the drip rate as I go along, and for the last while I have a small stream of water, and this helps bring the temp up slowly to match my tank.
|
The temps of the bags were good when I initially got them. Someone was floating them for me already.
Anywhoo, a lesson learned.... acclimate longer and adjust temps better and hopefully that will help. |
*OUCH!* >_< That's my greatest fear for ordering live goods online. Especially $P$ corals.

Yup. It was my first time ordering SPS online too, unfortunately. But hey, it was a lesson learned, and now I know that it's a better idea to stay away from the sps. I think it's fairly common as well. Like I said though, the vendor I dealt with was great and the other frags look amazing.. so definitely no complaints at all. I'll be ordering more zoos soon, they look fantastic.
Haha, $p$ . |
I have had no problems shipping SPS before, I have done it many times. You can see my last shipment from last week, I did not float the bags due to the number of them, I did however check temperature and salinity. I added small amounts of water over a period of an hour just to be careful, but the temperature between the bags and my tank was only 4°, and the salinity was pretty well the same. Sorry to hear about your loss. No matter what the reason, it still is depressing when you loose a new aquisition.
