If you are going to use GE Silicone I make sure it is Windows + Doors stuff not kitchen and bath! I repeat not kitchen and bath!
Kitchen and Bath silicone has mildew resistant chemicals in it and will wreak havoc on your reef.

I think the stuff at Canadian Tire is a Mastercraft brand if Im not mistaken.

Grrr i was gonna get that! well i guess it's another trip there tomorrow.
how long do i need to let it cure before putting water in the tank. as well is there a faster way to speed up the curing process?

I think for full strength, you have to wait until it is fully cured (~7 days).

dang, thats pretty slow :(
would i be able to speed up the process? using a heated fan?

I have put water in tanks a day or two after the silicone has been done.
Personally I would wait 48 hours.
