Don't worry about it RONA out here is about twice the price of Home Depot anyways. the few times I have been to RONA I have been very disapointed with there sales service and pricing. they lost a 4000.00 buck wood order from my work theother day because of a comment "Oh thoes 2X4's are 3.60 each but your with the goverment so we will make you a good deal how is 2.45" sorry but the regular price is 2.80 at most places and even cheeper at some so I just turned and walked out.. I honestly don't know how they stay in business with there pricing.

My usual shopping is rona behind sunridge, but the eggcrate really is in the ladder aisle. Or at least so it seems - when you're facing the display, behind you are ladders, to your right is ladders... (left is the front aisle). Could be the rest of the suspended ceiling stuff is farther down...
I figured it was just there because it was probably easier for product placement, the aisles bigger than the one down the lighting aisle.

I find it amusing to compare pricing between home despots and rona even on the silly pvc parts. 90s, 45s, ball valves are cheaper at HD, but there's not as many bits and pieces (for those make it work DIY projects), Sunridge Ronas great for having things like unions in stock (one of the few I've found in town that carries them).

All I can say is it's a good thing they're about a 5 minute drive apart - I've learned to shop both to save on bigger plumbing projects.

I guess we are lucky up here in Edmonton, Andy. The closest Rona and Home Depot (and the second closest) to me are right beside each other. You can walk back and forth..

I don't buy anything PVC or related from them unless it is after hours at the plumbing supply place I have an account at. If you thought a buck was cheep for a 1in "T" at HD or RONA you should try shopping at a wholesale plumbing place:lol: .

Haha, Ryan, you must frequent the stores at Terra Losa? Those two are great! HD doesnt carry white PVC stuff though, but Rona does. Rona doesnt carry silicon(that is ok for tanks) but HD does. Its rather convinient!

muck 01-05-2006 09:39 PM

Yep.. I am at the Terra Losa stores quite a bit..

Oh and HD does carry the white PVC (underground sprinkler parts) but i find Rona has a better selection. IF I need a fair bit though I'll usually go to Wolseley.

So I was in Rona yesterday, and reflecting on these posts... The real problem is that they aren't keeping all this stuff in the Reef Section, where it belongs. In fact, I couldn't even find the reef section in the Calgary Trail store. Shameful.
