I am with you on this one Bob, I don't like it either. It takes me much longer to read and figure out what the heck they are saying. I guess it shows our age.

It must be an age thing because I hate it too. It takes me twice as long to read a post with the mumbo jumbo. Of course it beats not being able to read it at all if it is in French or for that matter any other language but English.

I am with you there. French is just mumbo jumbo to me, but I can read Dutch, and some Spanish

Some sites I have been on have simply added those shortcuts to the word filter.

Problem solved. I just can't wait to see a time when this stuff starts appearing on cover letters and resumes.

Well I have been known to make up my own language (usually curse words to keep a really good rant going) and I and probably only I can understand it.

more on nothing to do with blennies...

...ahem.

i'm stupid young, and it still takes me twice as long to read messages with random text messaging colloquialisms...

Sorry for the ignorance, but add what to the censor list? Do you mean the offending poster?

fatpuffer 12-14-2005 07:48 PM

I think he meant that "words" that are considered mumbo-jumbo.

Bob I 12-14-2005 08:02 PM

I have not been able to find such a censor list on this board, but if there was such a thing I would use it.

dunl 12-14-2005 09:36 PM

The admins have to add them in.....so in short, you need to petition them to do so.
