Anthony,

I have talked to you before about the SH.I have my tank set with live food also. They eat both frozen and live food. They chase the copepods around the tank then eat them But also eat the frozen stuff.I am always adding livefood as well.I have a buddy that sends me copepods from Nova Scotia. All I pay is shipping. As the larger tank is set up in a few weeks it will have a fuge in line and LR from my main 90 gal will be added to it as the mysid shrimp is in abundance in the rock and they should populate the fuge in time. Also I will add the copepods there as well. They eventually cycle into the tanks. My mandrin knows where to sit and wait for his diner to come.So coral is not a good idea...ok Thats good to know.I will be getting the wife to remove it.When I get home I will send you a pic.

George,

Some folks on SH.org had corals in their tanks without any problems, as far as I know. I never thought it was a good idea because of the toxins most corals produce in their slime-cover (or whatever you call it). I didn't want the possibility of my SHs hitching onto a coral that could possibly sting or hurt them in any way. Plus, I had corals in other tanks, so I was satisfied with a no-coral SH tank.

Also, SHs don't need lots of light. I had PC lighting on my 28g, which was more than enough to keep the macroalgae growing well.

The best place for answers to your questions are SH.org or Syngnathid.org. There are folks there who know just about everything that you can ask about SHs

Alright,

Well I should probably update... Some seahorses have come, some have gone... Still have 2 of the originals, for some reason every time I get new companions for the original 2 males, they pass on.

Hopefully the 3 new kuda females will be a bit longer lasting.

Probably going to finish filling the back eggcrate wall with somewhat live rock this weekend (finally decided the well cooked LR from the 10g reef meltdown is ready for use again).

Never thought i'd say this - the old photopost system was more gooder!
