They Do frag quite easily actually,

But they will do best by only taking clippings (min 1"x1" )from the outer edge and not cutting up like a pizza as some suggest.

Ive been able to cut a ring around the entire cap and then cut those into individual frags and still keep my mother a good size.

This is also more aesthetically pleasing,as you dont lose a nice show piece and have to wait for another to re-grow.

I have been able to frag many species multiple times of Sarco`s with no losses at all.
So frag away ! As long as your brood stock is healthy, and your frags will do better if placed back in the same system.

In a small system i couldnt recommend doing alot of cuttings in one session, as it will slime alot at first, and this will **** off a few other corals.
Ive cut atleast 30 in one session in a 108g with little trouble if thats any indication.

Sarco cuttings are a little difficult to attach reliably (2-3 weeks) as compared to other softies, but if they are pinned or tied to rubble in decent current they will do well.

The polyps will start to come out again in a week or so after cutting.

Smart idea Marc, I never thought about cutting a ring. That would look much better than hacking off chunks here and there. Thanks for the info!

Christy :)
