Looks like a magnetic ballast,and if its a 250 watt,then its probaly an M58 model.If you clean it up and install a another 250 watt bulb of a higher "k" rating then your good to go.Those industrial bulbs usually fall in the range of 4200-4500 k.

is that a street lamp it is in? if so it is a murcury vapor. not a MH, 6" just looks to small to be a MH but it is a HID at anyrate.

I think hes stealing street lights :biggrin: If it ends up being a MH ive got a street light infront of my house that may need repair soon :cool:

Geez I didn't even notice that it's in a street light fixture. Steve's right, those are Mercury Vapour. You might be able to run Iwasaki bulbs in it though (am I the only one who still uses Iwasaki ??? :lol: )

That look like a pretty sweet reflector though, all molded and shiney. Ditch the bulb and by a higher K rating. :biggrin:

Yep its a street light,an old school street light. I read somewhere that the old ones had MH lights. There are some more lyin around at work so if anyone wants one I can take them apart or deliver you a street light!!!!!
Gonna try and find a bulb to fit it and try it out. After I take it all apart. Thanks for the replies!!
