Great pics Rich!!
Whats the name of the little frag in the 3rd pic with the green polyps?

Nice Rich !

Hey, I've got a reactor but have been doing some kalk in the topoff which is a pain in the butt and it clogs everything up.

Do you think LR in the topoff water would perform the same as kalk? And how much do you think I'd use per 5g of RO/DI ?

Ryan: I'm sorry man not a frig'n clue , 8 yrs and you would think i would know, plus most of my SPS corals don't take on the same color or shape under the NO's with high flow

Deb: So your running a reactor and dosing Kalk , wow that's serious depletion. I switched over to Kalkwasser because it keeps the Alk in check too. Your running a much larger system tho, so who know's if it would even make a dent

Could be Acropora Humilis or Acropora SAMOENSIS

It's a good idea to find out your depletion rate before using it.

How do I know my depletion rate?? Help??

Ciao-

Use a test kit to find your levels --> add the amount of Liquid Reactor to get the levels where you want them --> test levels daily to find out your depletion rate

megatron_55 05-05-2005 06:37 AM

whats a good, accurate and reliable test kit? Any suggestions?

sumpfinfishe 05-05-2005 12:46 PM

Marc,
Use the Salifert test kits, there alittle more $ but worth every penny, very accurate readings. J&L's and OA have them in stock.
To find out my depletion rate I tested Ca levels in the tank daily for over a course of a month. It was no doubt a chore but now I know my depletion rate and simply dose the required amount of LR every few days with top off. I also use Kents Liquid Calcium to bring levels up for water changes as I find the LR is good for maintaining small daily levels but the higher rates need a larger boost with LC-IMO
