I had one for about 3 years.

stunning fish. co-existed with tank mates swimmingly. awesome reef inhabitant in my experience.

never went for any of my corals. my tank is sps dominated, a few softies, a few lps, some shrooms, zoos. and some clams.

if i remember correctly, it may have taken a few weeks to wean to prepared/frozen foods. but would graze for minidusters and aiptasia initially, until they were wiped out.

started offering brine, then onto my fishes staple diet of mysis. loved the mysis.

lately i've been spending alot of time on my 180 *read a few hours on 1day of the weekend* and i think after i set up my new tank at my house and get my 180 back into tip top condition, i will most likely look into adding another copperband to my tank.

the copperband is one of my favorite fish.

The cbb I have ate mysis, brine shrimp, aptasia, feather dusters and clams. I loved it even though I lost a clam but it stopped eating after being stressed out, and died. The feather dusters came back after.

Wow it really looks hit or miss with these fish. However it seems there are more people who "had a CBB" than "have a CBB".

Had two for about 3 months. Really enjoyed misys but left the aiptasia alone. Good reef inhabitant in my experience. Had anemome, softies and LPS. Didn't nibble once.

My wife and I loved these fish. So it was sad to lose them. BTW, don't get two. The LFS said it would be OK. They co-existed peacefully for awhile but soon the big one would terrorize the smaller one.

Wouldn't personnally buy another one. Been too hard to keep.

One more question, will a Copperband Butterfly bother snails?

AJ_77 05-20-2005 07:22 PM

IME, they will bite at anything protruding beyond the shell. All my snails lived without antennae when I had the CBB.
