You boil the water and turn the burner off and then place the heat pacs in the water but dont boil the water with the heat pacs in it.

So then how do you dry them and keep the air off them so they don't re-activate?
I'm really wondering if we aren't talking two different types of heat packs here... I have never heard of reusing the dry chemical types. Andy |
Andy I think you are thinking of the heatpacs that we used to have when I was a kid called HOTSHOTS.they are little heat pacs that fit into your gloves or boots.The ones I am talking about are Perma Gel.You can use it as a heat pac or cold pac.by throwing it in the freezer. It is made by micro ban.Approx.size of the bag is 6"by 6"So I was reading the earlier reply and it seems you guys are talking about the hotshots.Not these ones.

That's what I thought... Most of the heat packs used in aquaria are the single use chemical air activated ones.
