Did you contact J&L when you received it?

I doubt it left J&L in that condition. Sometimes "poop" happens along the way.

I sent them an email right away saying i was concerned with the anemone as it didn't look right, it didn't resemble a carpet at all when i got it. When i was on the phone with them the salesmen said most of their carpets looked pretty bleached, but said he found one that looked in good condition.

It fell apart overnight in the qt, my god what a disgusting smell, still feeling sick after cleaning in an hour ago ha. Since it was dying in the tank but i got it out in time is there anything i should do? i check my parameters and i noticed the nitrate had gone up, so i did a little water change to lower it.

Also anything i should do to the equipment in my qt tank since the anemone died in there or just let it all dry out?

If you feel so inclined, you could add 1 mL chlorine bleach to the quarantine tank (obvious no fish or inverts in there!) and run it overnight, that is a good way to sterilize it. Just empty it and dry it out after and all the chlorine will off-gas. If you're super concerned you can add a dechlorinator, but it's not necessary.

Or, you can just rinse the quarantine really well. I'd be inclined to sterilize it since there could be some yucky bacteria in there from the anemone.

K I already emptied it and got it in the garage drying. Maybe I'll grab some bleach as we're out and setup to run in there. Anything I should do for the dt? Everyone and everything looks happy

I probably wouldn't bother with the bleach if you already have it taken down - as long as it dries out thoroughly most bad things will die anyway. DT will probably be fine because you took it out before it started disintegrating.
