I am using mine on a 12 hour on 12 off cycle to match my store lights. So far no problems so I think that it will be okay at 6 and 6. They claim not to use them on wave makers but I have spoke with people tha have done this for over 4 month with no issues. The output dirrection is adjustable left to right. It is not automatic but manual. If you have anymore questions le me know. Thanks
