Ok I just clean the probe who was looking like a piece of live rock calibrate (even after +3month the 4 years old probe is right on target)it and the value is 8.09 at 1.025 salinity

The difference in each is the make up water you take, I utilize ro/di water with a value of 0 tds
so this water is very easy to change PH. One drop of vinegar in the bucket will make 25 gallon of water acid and a pinch of backing soda will turned back hight PH

IMO That way I probably get the real value IO suppose to be :D

3ppm TDS from the DI Brad ? I was having problems at 2ppm TDS and found out I should change it at 1ppm. I tested the membrane, which was okay at 98%, so I changed out the DI.

Does that stuff affect the pH as well ?

Only use RO and IO my make up water runs at 1.023 and ph at 8.1..

I've only measured newly made up water a few times and I always got measurements in the low 8s. I was going to say, maybe it has to do with water in the Northwest but Iowa and Calgary sort of throws that for a loop.

but if the TDS of water is 0 ppm we should have all the same PH at the end with any kind of Tap water

but if we dont have 0 probably then the mineral still in the water could play with tath PH in my therory :D

Very strange brad :confused:

Wich kind of PH test have you take?
if it is a PH meter did you have calibrate it?
maybe there someting more than only the TDS who
play with the PH

Stephane, I use a meter that is calibrated and tested on a known standard. I wish I just got bad readings, but unfortunately they're accurate. I'm told that the amount of CO2 in the air at the time the salt is added can affect pH.
