Thanks Tony, I read the same thing about feeding, and it is the pretty ones that need more care and attention. I will stay away from those simply because I am a simple reefer and not at the point that I'm looking for a challenge.... RSM's is stunning even though color wise it's beige, they seem to add a different look to a tank. After seeing a few photos with gorgs in them and being something I haven't tried, will likely give it a go!

Nice to know there is a healthy supply of gorgs in Calgary Denny! Hoping to move there this summer.
I can't ID them all, but here are mine: This one kind of looks like another species of Menella. The polyps and arrangement of the polyps look very similar to what Denny posted. It was called a corky finger when it was sold to me. http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps01c40630.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps45ea61e1.jpg Pterogorgia I think http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps6f2e8b5f.jpg My favorite and the center piece of my tank: http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...psa2856f05.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps6433f732.jpg Not sure what this species is. http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps729f0b75.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps79abcbad.jpg Corky finger. Don't have a picture of it with its polyps out! http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...pse7bf93a3.jpg |
This is your doing Jakegr, saw your seahorse tank pics and was smitten!! I got lucky and grabbed one off Snappy this aft.....will see how it does before adding more, but I def see more in my future!!
Nice collection Denny!! I will make it over to your place one of these days..... |
I have what I 'think' is a Plexaura flexuosa, but I'm not sure
Medium height in tank and medium flow Every couple of months it closes up for days at a time and I have to scrub off the brown algae. I use a toothbrush with the gorg in my palm and scrub against my hand. Then it opens again like nothing happened Crazy polyp extension the rest of the time and no care required otherwise http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps820609cc.jpg |
