2x4 can look straight to the eye but even being slightly warped you wont notice until you put something perfectly straight on it which is why most people recommend using rigid insulation to help combat that when making a stand from 2x material.
Which is also reason I'll never build a stand with anything but plywood because I know my cuts are straight and I don't need rigid insulation under the tank so there is no ugliness to the display! |
