I was told not to use an air stone only a hard tube open ended at the bottom of the bottle, also I use a 6500 k compact bulb.
I'm new to this so we'll see how it goes. :neutral:

RO water is too pure, I used carbon filtered water and yes no air stone just a piece of rigid tubing.
the light should be ok if it came in mamroo's kit, he grows nice green phyto.
6500k cfl works good.
what phyto you growing?

most likely it has to brew for a longer period of time.what strain of phyto are you using?i use r/o water at 1.025 salinity run through an uv sterilizer.for a gallon of phyto i use about 3 ml of micro algae grow.lighting i made my own led strips using 1 watt leds(25 per strip)various cultures like different lights(nanochloropus-white/red,tetraselmus-red,isocrysis-blue-etc)i'm using aquamedic reactors for my cultures and rotifers
