you would be fine with another bta or lta tubes are fine with any anemone provided they dont meet tubes do not move around very much and require supplemental feedings to stay healthy and colorful and to get good growth. if a bta runs into a tube anemone its gonna get stung for sure;) gl!! |

Yeah, I think I'll stick to the rbtas for now. It's kind of cute to see the babies crawling over the parents to scoop their light and feeding site in the current. |
U should not mix any anemone as they will adventually create chem. war fair bubble stay with bubbles carpets stay with carpets so on and so on.there Is a few success stories but for the most part no mixing
And tube won't host ANYTHING just eat it |
Tube anemones...
First they are NOT an anemone, they are a worm and they live in the tube that you see... All the nice colors is its mouth similar to a feather duster... They don't foot themselves and then move, they crawl like a worm. They can abandon their tube and make another, this takes a lot of energy from them though. Their sting is generally not as much as people claim...... They do have a sting but it's not usually a problem. I think the sting is mild - I have never had anything go missing due to the TA. One thing I will say is that I don't put corals near it, just don't want to take any chances.... My yellow leather gets rubbed by it and I should move it back a bit as it doesn't like the TA - this is my only complaint with the TA ... Mine eats out of the water column - brine and mysis... The tenacles pull food into the mouth. My understanding is that the purple ones like the temp of the water a bit cooler or hotter (can't remember). They will live in 77-78 but their lives will be shortened cause of it. I've had mine a year and its great. Only eats what I feed. Doesn't move around and my maxi minis live all around it. My 2 RBTAs live just above it. No anenome issues at all. I might just be lucky but that's my contribution here... |
That one killed two of my fish. And when i was cleaning the glass it stung my arm and believe me it hurts. It left red bumps all over my arm. IMO they look sweet but are a pain to keep in a reef tank because of the long swaying stingers. They get huge.

what color was yours? |
I've had mine for about a year now , one purple and one pink. I've never fed mine and they are just as bright as they were when I got them. I would say they have grown very little in the last year.

I've had purple one forever has stung numerous fish and has eaten a pipe fish and firefish my wrasses get. Stung all the time most my fish wont go near it believe me they can sting. Corals also get stung I don't feel it
