thanks mang.....I love that scoly.....even though having it makes me nervous......most moulah Ive ever spent on a coral......Im always worried that something is gonna fall on it or eat it or something......

you werent sposed to notice my hairy pits:redface:.........the scoly is in the small tank that has no angels or tangs......and because of this, the algae runs rampant.....I literally prune out a couple handfuls every time I do a w/c.....once I move the contents (corals, fish and critters) up to E-town, Im going to rotate one rock at a time into the big tank and have the tangs and angels shave it down.......hopefully

I've honestly never really read about angels since I figured I'd never have any. Didn't know they were big algae eaters.

So which of your fish would eat that? Looks to be hair and maybe bryopsis?

Delphinus 12-14-2011 03:03 PM

My tangs and angels sure won't touch that stuff.

ya ya......angels are big algae eaters......they constantly pick......unfortunately, at more than algae sometimes:neutral:....

it does kinda look like hair algae, but it is some kind of calerpra, similar to "feather"........my yellow tang and chevron pick at it ....there is some growing in the big tank, in the eggcrate overflow strainer, where it is hard for the tangs to reach......i see them up there from time to time trying to get to it......
