Before I even scrolled down to the last pic I was trying to think of how I was going to describe that particular part when tossing you mad props. Done I guess! Looks like some sort of floral eruption in tiers...so cool! What's under all that? A skinny tower or are there rock ledges?

Great shots!

muck 11-20-2009 02:20 AM

Fantastic FTS Doug and some great SPS pieces in there as well. :whoo:

Lance 11-20-2009 02:32 AM

Yeah that last pic is terrific. You should get that one made into a poster and put it in the front window of the store.

Hey you are welcome to come check it out anytime logistics allow:biggrin:

fishytime 12-09-2009 04:47 AM

The BK is still back-ordered and I got tired of waiting so....I decide that I am tired of dosing manually and forgetting to do my DKH in the evening, so I spent some dough on this as a x-mas prezzie to myself:biggrin:
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP3683.jpg

My little low-tech tank isnt so low-tech anymore... I havnt hooked it up yet as I just got the airline tonight and I need to cut a shelf so I can mount it in the pony tank cabinet...Jeez for amount of $ these things are you would think they could supply you with some air line so you can hook the thing up and use it right away:razz:

The first vid was shot when I had a couple Giessemann "middays" in the mix and was really yellow looking to my eye, will be interesting to see if the different bulbs changed the look of the final product....ya, the tank has filled in a titch since then hasnt it?...Hows Dan doing with it? I hope he is happy with some of the footage he got....gonna be cool to see the difference the new lenses made...Im getting excited to see the sequel:mrgreen:

Heres some recent shots...some actinic and some not...

Leah.....I dont actually have any ponies yet....all the ones left at the shop are female and Ive read that it isnt a good idea to mix horses from different sources (may introduce different pothogen to each other).

fishytime 12-14-2009 11:48 PM

Ok...before this degenerates into one of Brett's threads:razz:( j/k man), I will distract you-all with some more pics...

I've heard from a few sources it's all flex pipe and none of it's rigid. Maybe that's why it's so quiet down there?

kien 12-15-2009 03:09 AM

er.. Doug made a house call to Carmen with his rigid pipe and is now waiting to receive some ponies to care for ?? Maybe I should go back a few more pages..

lastlight 12-15-2009 03:14 AM

Read my post Kien. It's never been rigid =)

Bad husbandry maybe?

Either you got INSANE growth on that Green Slimer or this pic was taken before the fraggin'!

I want a piece of whatever that is when its big enough! Then again, it probably wouldn't look anything like that in my tank.. Given our past frag comparisons.

Dez 12-15-2009 04:26 AM

I see a couple of hard ones there Brett, you best check your eyes :) I know a hard one when I see one - coral that is.

Carmen 12-15-2009 02:33 PM

those orange rhodactis are incredible - any frags let me know! Cool colors!

*fumbles and runs to grab the scissors* anytime girly:biggrin:

Ive got a couple things to post about....first one being....Ive finally got the dosing pump set up.....I put it off and put it off thinking I was gonna need time to "set it up"....it was a breeeeeze to set up *feels like a knob for putting it off*....Im very impressed with how easy it was to program....and equally impressed with the fact I dont have to worry about forgetting to dose one or the other anymore....still think its expensive though:lol:

I started dosing the tank with Kents phytomax and zoomax a few weeks ago because I have a lot of sessile inverts and have added a few more in the add-on tank (feather dusters, seafans, gorg)....Ive noticed (and others have too) that the polyp extension on most of my sps is insane....Ive been stable for months with my Pohl's product dosing, so Im pretty sure that it is the Kent products have caused massive vomiting of the polyps lately ...

Or it could be that I started using the Pohl's "Eisenguard" or whatever its called, Iron stuff (sposed to make you sps more greener:mrgreen:)....Just started with this one, so we'll see how it goes....Im worried that it may "stimulate" algae growth...

Here's some pics for yous

A little while ago I posted in a thread about how many fish would you put in 230G....post #24.... http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/sho...9&page=3.....I got a pretty big surprise tonight Tony dropped by with his "nitrate reading electronic gadget" (wanted to word that so as to avoid any smart-arse comments) and he tested the water for me....I was in the middle of getting ready to do a w/c when I got the PM from Tony about coming over so I postponed the actual water swap til after he came....it had been three weeks since my last w/c(got busy and lazy last week when it was due)....I will give you all a run down of the bioload on the tank.....20ish fish, 11 clams, an oyster, a bit of coral,5(yes 5) BTAs, 2 sea fans, a gorg, feather duster, 2 cocoworms, 2 tuxedo urchins, linkia and fromia starfish, I have no idea how many snails and hermits....guessing probably 40-50 snails and 20 or so hermits, pom-pom crab, many acro crabs, I feed the fish generously once a day in the evening, almost always with rinsed frozen....I feed the recommended dosage of the following to the corals....KZ's AA, CV, SP, Xtra, Stylo-Pocci, and Kents Phytomax and Zoomax......Give it some thought and venture a guess....whats the magic nitrate number???

JDigital 12-30-2009 07:37 AM

Don't forget, 190ish pounds of Live Rock..

17ppm?
