I've spent two day reading this entire thread. :shocked!: WOW!!!
I started, not realizing how long it was, as I just bought a 110 and was hoping for some pointers. Not only did I get so much info and knowledge, that I hope to put to good use, I just wanted to say thanks, and I hope my tank will look half as good as yours. :thumb: Keep up the good work :) |

Im humbled by your comments and glad you found some useful info to take from it.....hopefully it was from some of the little bit of reef related info and not the other kind of info and other general debauchery that happens in my thread:wink:.....you should start a journal for your new 110g, so that we all can perv your tank:biggrin: Quote:

ya that favia is pretty sweet......one of my faves for sure......had always wanted a piece and finally found some...... well I mentioned before that I bought an I-Box nano......after some humming and hawing about it for awhile...... I came to the conclusion that I spend to many weekends away to leave a pico running unattended.......as it stands now, I can go to E-town for the w/e and pretty much leave the system without worrying about it.....I just over fill the sump with r/o make sure the r/o reservoir is full and its not that big of a deal for the fish not to eat for a day or two.....I also turn off the skimmer, just in case.....Im worried that a pico tank might not take to well to not being topped up for two or three days......................................... so............................................I decided Ima gonna plumb it in to the main system......is that cheating?......is it still considered a pico tank if it has a 150g sump?.....I brought home some 1/2" plumbing parts and starting looking at the space in the back chamber and I think I can do a herbie in this little tank......both drains and the return will be drilled through the back and the return will use the existing, although slightly enlarged hole(normally I dont much care for an enlarged hole:wink:)) for the stock return.......Im thinking I'll use a power-head of some make with around 250 gph for a return pump.....after head loss, that should be more than enough flow for a 2.5g tank.......I need some parts so I can see if I really can make this happen.....the overflow area is a tight little space,(much prefer tight little spaces, in some cases:wink:) so I may need to get my hands on a few more pieces to see if I can make it work.....stay tuned:mrgreen: |
