I am surprised that you ditched the GHL Mitras. You were having more success with them than anyone else I have ever seen.
It will be interesting to see the changes in coloration. :mrgreen: |
Nice switch Wayne! Tank is looking better than ever!

One week update: noticing more new colors that had been washed out under the LEDs. The red planet in the middle had generally been a slow grower... Not anymore. The same can be said for the shortcake and the blue tenius.

Light schedule
I've been asked to share my light schedule so here goes... Hope it is ok as I am still a newbie with the t5s...
This is my LED schedule http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps61aohic0.jpg The T5 schedule- yellow represents channel 2 and Orange: channel 1 http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps6gzynk3t.jpg For the LED with the yellow dot, this is a custom setting... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...psl3s0kr80.jpg And for the pink dot, also a custom setting... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...pscshumi6y.jpg I'll try and post a YouTube vid of the light cycle later. |

Wayne, some nice growth on your sps, also a well played move picking up the hybrid... Your colors will surely improve overtime. I've always enjoyed looking at sps under T5, the colors remind me of cosmic bowling where everything glows and pops. Looking foward to more pics as time progresses.

Super nice :biggrin:

okay, now you're just showing off.
Keep 'em coming ! :biggrin: |

Tank of the month..........
:multi::multi::multi::multi::multi::multi::multi:: multi::multi::multi::multi::multi: |
The change over from pure LED to T5 and LED has been quite positive. One coral that has been most noticeable is the DV Northern Delight....
Under the Mitras... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps77840b4c.jpg Under the ATI Hybrid... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...psa46696e3.jpg |

Now get back to your tank build! :mrgreen: |
Seems to have more polyp extension under mitras but the color is so much better.

I bought my T5s when they were popular, MHs were still in, and LEDs were just coming around I'll say I'm glad I've stuck with them, even though they cost me a couple frags a year in bulbs ... But I'm constantly thinking about MHs for my tank due to slower-growing stuff Your poop is looking awesome Wayner If I had some extra dough, I'd take a ferry and raid your tank |
Don't think it's more polyp extension but more of more light spread evenly over the whole coral. With led I find it more directional so all corals will be bright and colorful from the top down, but from the sides or underneath where the corals are shaded they tend to be more brown. I have noticed the same thing when having just led. And now supplimenting with 4 t5 the colors are more visible from the side where I tend to look at the tank most. Just my 2 cent. Wicked pics and beautiful colors by the way. You must have one of the best collections besides sweet ride and Darryl lol.

I think you guys have some saturated testosterone flinging around here...last time I checked saturated corals was a REALLY GOOD THING! *shakes head* I don't use the word "phenomenal" very often. Now where is my wine??
