I just thought I would share a couple pics of my newest additions....4, 1 1/2"-2" BAs. They are having issues with my overflow atm, but other than that, they settled right in and ate(voraciously,I might add) an hour after release. They are the smallest fish in the tank atm, so they have stayed tightly schooled....which is cool. Not the best pics but you get the idea.

fishytime 08-02-2009 04:03 AM

They are supposed to not like intense light so they have been milling around the center part of the tank....which is under the massive light swallowing "12" wide center brace....fine by me ....front and center:biggrin:

andreweh 08-10-2009 03:36 AM

Wow your tank looks amazing, I see why you work on the weekends! LoL.

fishytime 08-10-2009 12:24 PM

Thanks man...Can it be considered work if you owe your employer money after the pay period???

andreweh 08-11-2009 05:50 AM

HaHa thats funny, I should ask if you guys are looking for a back up worker? What kind of camera do you use to take those pics?

I use a combination of a couple cameras.....one is a relatively cheap pentax optio waterproof(for the up close and personal shots inside the tank) and the other is a canon powershot TX1.

fishytime 08-12-2009 07:32 PM

Ok.......last fish!(man , do I need an upgrade).... I had been really missing my bi-color blenny....loved how they behave and the attitude....so I broke down and took this guy home....Hes the only fish Ive ever been able to get a (somewhat) decent picture of....Im not sure exactly what kind of blenny he is....looks very similar to a lawnmower, but Ive never seen a lawnmower with red on the dorsal fin like this one.....this one also has small metallic blue spots along the lateral line....Ive been looking on line and havnt been able to figure him out.... They came to us as a starry blennies or seaweed blennies....but its clearly not either one....

banditpowdercoat 08-12-2009 07:55 PM

He looks the same as my LMB, little bit of red on his fin. Cute guy, gettin FAT in my tank tho, getting a belly LOL. and not that I have alot of algae. He pigs out on the Mysis and Formula1+2 Pellets more

ALBERTA REEF 08-12-2009 08:14 PM

Its a lawn mower benny. Neat fish. Great personality!

sharuq1 08-12-2009 08:17 PM

Looks just like my last lawnmower blenny. He was so fat he looked like a marble with fins.

ElGuappo 08-12-2009 10:52 PM

Is this the fat A$$ blenny i saw on tues? Left wall about mid way down. if so then the pics dont do it justice. VERY nice fish. he is HUGE.

Lance 08-12-2009 11:21 PM

My LMB has the red-tipped dorsal fin as well. i have seen them called numerous names such as the Sailfin Blenny, Algae Blenny, Jewelled Rockskipper. All the same fish: (Salarius fasciatus); and they are pretty cool little guys.

Id love to man....but I rent.....so that means the tank needs to be somewhat portable....its not that hard to move 110 gallons.....anything bigger is a major undertaking.

JDigital 08-14-2009 12:48 AM

definitely looks like a LMB to me... looks identical to the one I had...

This guy had the same blue dots, just hard to see in this pic.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...inued/LMB5.jpg

fishytime 08-14-2009 12:54 PM

I wonder if there are differences in color and patterning due to where they are collected?....Every other LMB Ive seen has been much lighter in color and has never had the red in the dorsal fin which is why I may be mis-identifying him....mine even looks way different from the one that is in one of our big coral tanks at the shop....oh well....doesnt matter really...still a very cool fish IMHO....It hasnt taken long for the little guy to think he is the king of the castle....I saw him take a bite at my much bigger regal tang(who was beside himself with anger)....funny as heck.
