Ya and people said we would not be the Nuckleheads and look what happens!!! Nucks should not of bothered trying to score late, and take what fate had dealt out. They only prolonged their agony
HAHa No doubt Steve. Go cry in those nice white towels. |
Curiousity question here:
Who thought the call on Cooke for high sticking when he was on the offensive was a good call? Ference lifted Cooke's stick, and from the angle I saw, looked like Ference hit his own guy in the face. Regardless of who's stick hit the calgary player in the face (because he was hit), the high stick was caused by Ference (by lifting Cooke's stick) while Cooke was on the rush with the puck. Didnt they say yesterday the ref's are only going to call penalties that affect scoring chances? Now, that penalty really broke our backs. I mean, tie game in the third and to hand out a 4 min penalty (sure there was blood, but it was initiated by Ference)... thats just insane. Only Vancouver gets hit like that. Overall, shit ref'ing. Too inconsistent this whole series. I really think the ref's should have some accountability. I enjoyed the last game cuz the ref'ing was a bit loose and fairly even. But then both teams come out playing like that this game and things started getting called? wth. Consistency is good. Anyways, I have to say that calgary played with a lot more heart then Canucks did. Naslund looked beat the whole game (I expect tomorrow the Vancouver camp will say he was playing sick - bah, whatever). Calgary out hustled, outskated and hit harder then we did. Calgary deserved the win they got, even tho I feel a bit ripped off by the ref's. Anyways, tomorrow we get to hear the same excuses we have heard since 94. Whee, fun. Hope the Canucks enjoy their golf. |
I actually line up at the saddledome on friday/saturday morning from 3:30am so that i can go and watch game 6. it is all worth it!! and this time, at game 7, although there should not exist a game 7 at first, is also a really good game!! now...
who's the daddy!!   Flames!!! Way to go! 3-2 OT!!! swim canucks!! killer whales are not suppose to be on the ices....  good games though lastly, although i also think that we are not upo to the game with Detroit, canuck are worse than us now, so... even though if canucks get through instead of us they are going to lose anyway... |
Props to the Flames.............. they played better tonight.
At least this was an exciting game. Cheers, Vic Veng68 |

It was a hard call for the refs in that I dont think they had the luxury of a dozen replays .... however even if they did they have to call it because it is in the rulebook as a penalty and unless there was blood the Flames were not going to get a powerplay or a call their way so bottom line ... good call Then Ference gets called for slashing when he hits the other guys stick right ? ... 2 minutes ... and he is in the box when the tying goal is scored at the end of the game ... but wait ... Iginla's stick is slashed out of his hand moments before the tying goal is scored :frown: ... no call  The refs gave the Canucks every opportunity to get back in the game with non-calls once more ... my brother came over to watch the game and we could not believe the non-calls for " mugging " ... is that in the rulebook ? I dont think the Canucks have anything to complain about as far as the refs go ... if they could stand to watch the game again and especially the third it would be easy to see how often the non-calls went their way. Now we get Detroit and this should be a good series ... hopefully we get Simon and a few others back sometime in this series  |
seeing as I don't like either team (van or Cowtown) as my team didn't make it this year and I am not a bandwagon jumper. I can say that this series was them most horably refed series that I have ever seen, it was inconsistant, and a lot of bad calls both ways.
DiscusZ, I don't think you can say the nucks cheated when Calgary was cheating just as bad, just because they got away with that one don't for get about the ones Cowtwon got away with.. it was a very chippy/muggy series both ways. Steve |
