I just finished a 5 hour dishwasher install .... :twised:
Spend $600 on an appliance, and you still have to buy more parts to put it in :surprise: Anyway, I'm sure glad it's done I've been handwashing since November |
Glad you got it plumbed in. Save some good $ from those damn 'installers'. I try to do as much as possible as well! lol

Designer Clowns are proof that, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. I find them all attractive in that Frankenstein freak of nature kind of way (nice way of saying damn they are ugly)

Clowns can be painted any way they like and portrayed innocent. Reality is they are devil spawns.

Checking the calibration on a pH probe and bust it shaking the RO off ....
Doesn't read too well with the bulb missing :twised: |
Oh, here's a better one fer ya
Driving home Tuesday night, going uphill and matt it to make a light Left turn and hear 'tick tick tick' ... hmm, busted valve spring maybe ? So I matt it again and 'blap blap blap' goes the exhaust Whew, at least it's not a head re + re Continued driving home thinking 'I hope it's not a blown stainless muffler' Get home and find I blew a collector ... on a Hooker Competition Header !!! Not the gasket, but the actual collector where the 4 downtubes meet the main collector I guess the 10 years of road salt caught up to me Guess what I'm doing tomorrow  http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...psc5d0ff1c.jpg |
Will it be a tgif or not!

Ok don't get me wrong, headers are great. But all I see is a pipe running over every single mounting bolt and spark plug. Is hooker still building a decent header? What's the flange thickness on them now? I cant say too much though cause there usually the first thing I do on my vehicles too. They obviously don't mess with your air care? I'm dreading the day they bring that up here. |
I've heard aircare is on the way out, so you probably don't have to worry about it up there
These are replacing the same part# so fit is the same for me No mods at all  Just put 'em on and break in the gaskets There's lots of clearance to get at the bolts with a stubby wrench and a socket here and there, and even though they claim they don't fit angle-plug heads, they work fine on mine My '78 truck is a heavy half and in 77-78 they eliminated emissions controls on these models for HP issues, so I have piles of room to pass and do so within recommended limits, even with a 355HP crate motor and a 795CFM Q-Jet The flanges are 5/16" and the ports are raised I've never had a leak ever from the first set, until they rotted away  When I install new gaskets on these, I torque down by feel, run the engine to temp and torque again, then go for a hard run, torque again, then torque a last time the next day after they have fully cooled off After doing this, I've never had a header gasket leak, and I've replaced the gaskets twice on the first set of headers I use Felpro 1406 I only wish I could have afforded ceramic this time around These headers are $199 state-side, and $218 here The ceramics are about $385 state-side, and about $525-50 here :twised: Some pics of the new headers, and where they're going http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps8f20fd48.jpg http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps6fd8deec.jpg http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...psc940cdda.jpg http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/P5090003.jpg |

It's a GMPP ZZ4 stock and it's pushing a 700R4 and 10bolt Posi I blew the pinion gear out the bottom of the housing on a 12bolt 3:08, so I decided to upgrade for mileage and in-city power  |
I meant to send this to another member recently, so I'll post it here
My old 3:08 had about 200K on 'er and was acting sticky, so I matted it in the city ( to avoid a highway breakdown ) and it exploded during a 1-2 shift @ about 5500RPM with 405ftlbs and about 350HP BANG !!!!!!! I heard shrapnel hit parked cars and set off 2 alarms  Funny thing is, it still rolled 'cause I only sheared the pinion gear shaft Good ol' chevy power ... http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps4987c50c.jpg |
