My little girl Felicia went to Malaysia for almost 4 weeks with my parents and she's having a great time. Miss her like crazy but at least with Skype, we can video call once or twice a day so that's not bad at all compared to in the past. With Skype, no need for expensive long-distance telephone plans or calls & you get to see who you're talking to. It's awesome.

Anthony

I do, I got to see my sister and her family on it at Christmas time

Definition of depressing: decluttering and organizing for an hour this morning only to have it look like nothing was done!

I believe it's important to have company stay with you at your house once in awhile. That way you can amaze yourself by how clean your house can be!!!!

My tolerance for stupid people is at an all-time low today. 'I pity the foo' that asks me another stupid question.

is anyone here using bio-pellets? i hear they work but i'd like to hear from some reefers and avoid using the search feature for fear of bringing down the server with the pile of results i'd get. please and thank-you =)

Man if I had only had time to read these posts I could have had a good laugh, de-stressed and avoided the ugly brow beating the poor new guy at work had to endure... Oh well, now he knows me a wee bit better.

Well, a search that started 15 years ago has kicked back into full gear again. My dad was left with his younger brother in an orphanage in Rhodesia with the onset of WWII. We have found info on his father, found half brothers, cousins and just today had contact with someone on his moms side. We thought my dads full brother died when he was around 19, around 1959ish, but found out someone had contact in the late 1970s in south Africa. All efforts now focused on finding him, dead or alive. Gawd, I hope we find him alive, I would move mountains to reconnect them, they are both in their 70's now, 50 years since they last saw each other. I just can not imagine, my dad for almost his entire life did not have a family, just us, now....wow...where to start.....

The Grizz 02-15-2013 03:57 AM

Now thats totally amazing Sheena, hope things work out for you.

SanguinesDream 02-15-2013 04:33 AM

Random thought.

Why am I lying naked in bed on Valentines Day surfing for corals instead of "entertaining" my spouse?

I suck.

jorjef 02-15-2013 04:47 AM

.

lockrookie 02-15-2013 05:34 AM

There are no words to reply to that random thought I just kinda clammed up.......

Wow, that would be amazing to reconnect them after five decades. Are you using Ancestry.ca to help find your long-lost relatives?

We have used it yes but it has not directed us to any contacts, more historical information. Unfortunately, being that on my dad's mother's side, the family is from Rhodesia and most have moved to South Africa. Because of the political unrest (and that's putting it mildly what has taken place) in Rhodesia/now Zimbabwe over the last number of decades, most records are lost or have been intentially destroyed. The doors on my grandfather's side keep opening and we are finding more, mostly due to the fact he immigrated back to Europe after the war. Thankfully, this person on my grandmother's side who made contact yesterday is as motivated as we are, is in South Africa and willing to help. If we were talking about Europe, North America, I'm sure we would have found something years ago, Africa is a completely different beast.

When searching for my grandfather, it took 3 years to finalize.

Used to work in rebar, spent too much time hanging off the 27th floor of partially built buildings :) You can keep it!!
