Anybody have an old 10,000k or 12,000k 175w MH bulb they could lend me for a week or two? I'd like to try one on my 37g in place of the 6500k bulb I'm currently running to see how the tank will look and if the ballast will be able to handle it.

Thanks

I have an old AB bulb sitting around. It is 10K, degrees Kelvin. It fires OK on my electronic ballast. The color is fine, but it is a bit flickery. If you want I could send it up with Al next week.

boB,

What's an AB bulb? Also, is it 175w, which is what my ballast will take?

Dang you are a nuisance   . Now I have to write Aqualine Buschke, of which I am not certain how to spell it  . And yes, it is a 175W. If the bulb is in an exclosed top you won't notice the flickering. I had it in a pendant, and I could see the flicker on the wall.

Oh, that's me alright

Sure, send it up if Al would be kind enough to pick it up for me.

Thanks, boB and Al

Hey, speaking of equipment, does anybody have a small float switch floating  around that they would be willing to part with? OOO! How about a VERY small skimmer? How small, small enough to fit a 5.5 gal sump. Something like a little air powered one. Thanks!~!

Let me know about the float switch though.
