Aren't rats supposed to be incredibly intelligent? I've heard that they can be trained to go for walks on a leash and perform tricks. Hamsters stink like urine. I tried raising them as food for my snakes and I couldn't stand the smell.

Flash 10-22-2012 07:27 PM

rats are awesome! I'm from bc and you can own them there! way less stink, and if you get them young you can train them to do little things! my friend wants a hamster, so now i'm looking on kijiji to find her a cage... ugh... stupid hamsters, i'd rather have mice!

Argggg. Others have said this before and I will say it again. Why do we need to quote every full page of pics in the journal section. Love to read them. Love looking at everyones pics, then there is the quote with all the pics again and saying something that did not need a quote.

For sure there is a place to quote but is there a place where its not needed.

or is it just me..........

I think this is done by accident a lot of the time. I know I've done it by accident a few times. You hit up the quote button because you want to quote what they said, but then end up bringing in all the pictures that was in that post as well. The edit window only shows the image link so it's not immediately obvious that you are about to link in a crap load of pics. Therefore, you have to know and or remember to delete those photo links. It is an extra step that is easily forgotten or simply not thought to be done by newbies. It makes matters worse when you can't go back to edit your post to delete those accidentally quoted image links. Just sayin' :-) Of course, then there are those douchebags like me who like to quote image links for fun every now and again to **** off you and Myka.

ya, you and half my office chickened out and turned around to "work from home" Lucky (or possibly unlucky) for me I only live 5 minutes from work so my wintergeddon driving took an additional 10 minutes! I know, crazy!

Barring you're type, I can see how this happens. When you quote a post, all you see is links? If I quote, I see all the pics, not links.

This is correct. All I see are the image links wrapped in the IMG tag so it is easily lost within the other text that I actually want to quote. Usually I'm quoting and posting by the seat of my pants so remembering to look for and delete those images tags is extra effort :-)

Actually, now that I think about it, did the forum always include images in quotes? Maybe I'm thinking of another forum but I thought that it didn't do that at one point?

i must really suck at this looking for sponsorship thing. no one wants to sponsor young adults.... they have the money, but will save it for kids. Pub crawls and bar nights don't work as we don't drink a lot... and more then half my team are students and aren't from the city so they don't have many people that would come to a silent auction. any other ideas....?! If i do a silent auction... will you guys come?! lol!

Coralgurl 10-24-2012 06:54 PM

I am so fed up with my job, contractors, clients etc..... Contractors think they can take their sweet ass time getting a job done when they've been paid a 50% deposit. Oh, let's walk away from the job right in the middle of the day and leave the client (me) to deal with the fallout of ****ed off people emailing, calling and stopping in to complain. Or let's do a major power upgrade and when the entire building's power trips, its because the tenants are now overloading the system????? WE JUST UPGRADED THE AMOUNT OF POWER AVAILABLE!!!! Or, how about contractors who arbitrariliy decide to terminate their contract, with no notice they are terminating a contract, stop performing the work, but continue to invoice, including providing timesheets, we find out 3 months later and are still waiting to be reimbursed. Or, another on another project, the contractor was requested to provide information so that once completed, we could hit the ground running, no, don't get it and when we do, the supplier has no clue what we are even talking about. And the job is not completed because we were informed of final connection requirements. And I get blasted for documents not being completed, when I am not the one responsible for completing the documents, I don't negotiate corporate contracts, yet, I am asked to decipher what the corporate people come up with? Morons!!!! I just finished yelling at my boss for this, well plugged my ears so I couldn't hear him....

What is wrong with contractors in this city???? These are not mom and pop groups, they are big corporations and they really do not give a crap about performance or reputation. There's a lot of folks getting fired now as I've had enough....Its not specific industry, its all of them it seems. AGH....sorry for the rant....

Flash 10-24-2012 07:37 PM

they are no better up here.... trust me!

fishoholic 10-26-2012 03:54 AM

I just turned on my tv and ctv news was on talking about sports, I was about to go into my pvr list (and I was looking down at the remote) when I hear the announcer say "and this is what our underwater cheerlearders have to say about that" (for a split second I thought to myself huh???) and low and behold I look up just in time to see a video of a pom pom crab!!! LOL I have to admit I thought that was awesome!!!! So much so that I had to share

Try being a small business & getting big companies to pay you on time. I have a strict 30 day payment policy & get companies to sign off on it but several take 60-90 days & refuse to pay the interest charge they signed off on.

My favourite boss had a policy for these kind of accounts ...
They always received the utmost priority, and they always paid a little hidden extra ...

You can have the best rapport with any service account, but their payables don't care ....

Greg, just add a little to your invoices to cover you pain, and all is good

I hear ya

We would recognize similar accounts and bump costs accordingly
Think of it this way ..

Anyone is welcome to do business with us, and we will give each customer the same service as the next ( except X business that pays a premium of X percent per job - or such )

And I'm sure you charge the adamant customers extra when they want their work done right away

In my boss's way of doing business ...

This customer is the most important customer we have ( and he is going to pay the most )

Bust their balls with pricing, and buffer your invoices to cover months of carrying costs ....

The Grizz 10-26-2012 01:37 PM

Oh they pay the interest whether they know it or not on the next job if they call again. A few where a one time only & where in a big jam on a weekend or late at night. You'd think they would pay a little faster as I really help them out.

My other issue is when a company tells YOU when RHEY are going to pay there bill, REALLY!! I provide my services & your & your telling me when your going to pay me, I don't think so.
