Worked for my yasha, since I've add it I haven't found him in the overflow. I've had to do that on a few tanks too. The mesh is a pretty tight weave though, you'll need to keep on top of scraping the algae off.
One idea I'd consider if I was in that situation is I'd make a little frame out of acrylic that you can just plop on top of the overflow. Ie., an acrylic lid with say eggrcrate glued to that spaced so that it sits close to flush on the inside of the overflow's eggcrate, and then zapstrap the mesh to that eggcrate. That way when it comes time to clean it you just lift it up, take it to the sink, and plop it back in place 5 minutes later. |
