Last chance...?

Since December or so, I've been having my same old problems. Coral began slowly dying. Last time, I struggled for a year before finally replacing my skimmer and adding ozone. That solved my problems at the time, but I was never sure if it was the skimmer or the ozone.

I've lost all my gorgonians and the rest of the coral is slowly declining. Here's a couple of photos showing how unhealthy some look at the moment:

A few weeks back, I confirmed that my ozone generator was fried. I just installed this replacement unit... an Ultralife UZ360. This kind of generator doesn't require an air dryer and should be more reliable than my old unit.

If this doesn't work, I don't know what I'll do. I don't see the point in paying for all that electricity if the coral is just going to die in the long term. FOWLR here I come!!

Nutrient buildup?
H2S accumulation under your rockwork?

No amount of cleaning seems to make any difference. I've added a few more rocks in the sump to add more area for filtration.

My tank is basically bare bottom beneath the rocks.

Bummer. Hope the new generator does it for you. You've eliminated the possibility of fish nibbling at them?

No, that is not the problem...although the angels do start to nibble once the tips are dead and covered with algae. If the ozone does the trick, I'll nip off all the dead SPS tips so they can regrow.

Do you think there would be any merit in rotating the salt brands you're using?

My corals did the same thing due to a voltage leak. Do you have a ground probe or two?

I do have a ground probe...but I'll give it a cleaning. No harm in that.
