I've had the regal for almost three yrs now. I purchased him from Pro Reef with the tail like that and it has never changed since. As for the Purple he is a model citizen in the tank. I've never seen him/her acting aggresive to others. Speaking of aggression, my laboutti wrasse has been acting schitzo the last couple days... He would darting at the bartletts and others or chase them until he tires out. I thought Laboutti are suppose to be easy going... |

ya, something like that LOL. Incidentally, that's how I look when I'm on Canreef too..
|
Hey, ya got a Gorg
Nice pics of some great fuzzies |

Thanks, Greg! Have two gorgs that survived the tear down of the 120 back in Feb/March. I thought I had lost them as they were down to the skin purple blue skin and no polyps what so ever. Once the new 120 got going the Gorgs bounced back and quickly too. They are very resilient animals! |
Wayne, its all looking great. The bad luck u had earlier this year will soon be a distant memory. See ya on Tuesday, with a frag that's 'pretty in pink'!
|
Looks great buddy, I love all those pictures...just curious when you are coming over to take shots of my tank...

How about an update on yours?:wink::wink: |
Not much new to update really but things are chugging along and with my regular routines in place, corals are colouring up, slowly but surely and all the fish are now happy swimming and living together. I did pick up more clean up crews... three conches, couple of cleaner shrimps, a pair of cleaner wrasses and a yellow coris wrasse. For hardware, added two WP40s... these guys can really push a lot of water and the waves it can create is very impressive for the money. Also picked up a apex energy bar 8 to make my system a bit more automated.
I have also had Industrial Plastics to make a custom top down box for me. The box is 14 x16 and 2.5 inches deep. http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps2ce5b199.jpg Should have made one from the beginning instead of spending good money on the Eshopps look down viewer. http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps4df83de9.jpg Here are some pics taken with the new top down box... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps1629e141.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...psd33abb09.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps862b5d13.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...pse87d073c.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps13fe8382.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...pse22ca04a.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps8725636f.jpg |
That top down box was money well spent. Looks great.
Those wp40's really do put out some great flow. The waves you had going the other day were just awesome. Corals are looking good. Keep on chugging. |
Nice pics and good lookin' box Wayne
You've got me thinkin' about talkin' to my plastics guy ... |
That box is rad!! When can I order one?? I can do local pick up in late August.

Oct Pic update
My monthly pic update... this time of my new coral collection over the summer. Thanks to Rich, Brad and the two Jons for getting me started. Since then I have adopted a East coast taste for other frags ( Thanks to Frag Box and the jelly guys from MJC) and hope to be able to return the favour once these corals grow out. So less talk and more pics... here we go and we'll start with the tank shots first...

Nice collection... Good job with your shopping. And the corals are looking great. Should be quite the sight in a year's time.

Week three with Zeovit
So I have jumped on to the zeovit bandwagon and into week three I am starting to see some nice colouring with some of the sps. I am not doing the full zeovit regiment but I have incorporated quite a few of the blue bottles into my routine and dosing less then half of what it suggests on the bottles.
Here are some pics to share... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...psd1f81bb8.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...psc3039897.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...psb8352d48.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps14207be0.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps5c68fee3.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps9bf64c76.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps21a63cce.jpg |

It's been a pretty rewarding and satisfying night... Water change, sucked out all the crud accumulated the last three months and replaced the vertex alpha 200 skimmer with the newly acquired BK 200 mini... Here is a pic of it in the sump... Will be tuning the skimmer the next couple days and hope to hit that sweet spot.
http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...psf7466b69.jpg If all goes well the vertex alpha will be up for sale! |
Vertex Alpha > BK Mini
You're going backwards, Wayne! :) |
love the frags and the fish
