It can get a little tight, but manageable .What I did was use 1 3/4 wide bracing on the back and the side with the overflow. I have a double eurobrace on my tank, one layer all around the top and a second layer flush to the tank under first layer. I stopped the lower layer at the edge of the overflow. I will take a pic and post it if you need it.

Save the wall board from salt creep hopefully. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....19.25-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....25.13-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....25.02-800.jpg Built a manifold for future reactors if needed https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....35.31-800.jpg Tank is sitting outside for a good cleaning, then going to fix up the back wall. I saw something on another tank that I want to try. Have to get RO/DI producing water tomorrow and get tank into house. |

Been a busy week
Finally got the tank close to home, Outside for a cleaning and for the last stage before putting iton the stand.
I saw a thread on another site that did a tile back wall and thought "what the Hell' Looked good.... gotta try it. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....51.22-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....01.49-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....51.28-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....53.01-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....52.36-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....35.48-800.jpg Weather has been amazing here so far this summer, was nice to be outside working on the tank, BUT time to get this on the stand. Had a couple guys lined up to help me get it in the house, but that didn't happen so, and in light of what happened to the last tank, I wiggled it onto a dolly and ran it in the house by myself. Broke a vase and a 2x4 but tank made ther trip intact. Thought about setting it on the stand myself but with the extra weight of the tile and the fact that I added an extra 5 1/2" to the height of the stand, thought that it would be best to wait for help. |
This is going to be interesting
Keep the pics comin' |
Help arrived
Finally, tank and stand together in my house....
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....20.28-800.jpg Still not 100% about the extra height on the stand, will need a workbench everytime to do any work on the tank. Try it for a while and keep thinking of all the work it will be to remove the 2 x 6. I have lots of benches kicking around from my drywalling days. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....20.13-800.jpg Version # 3 of my reactor manifold https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....21.17-800.jpg Old sump all cleaned up https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....21.06-800.jpg Plumbed and ready https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne...6.11-1-800.jpg Version #1 of my electical box. actually had to mod it once because I didn't measure how big the Radion Ballasts were and had to add 3/4" to the depth. Used an old American DJ switch box from work for all those things I want to be able to turn off and on all the time. Have one GFI plug plugged to the wall and one GFI on a battery backup for one pump and a heater for the once a month power outage. Still have plenty of space for a controller EB8 in the box and even a few more boxes if needed. Ran the pump controller to the front with the switches also. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne...7.38-2-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....07.12-800.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18798128/Ne....18.33-800.jpg |
An old piece of airline or other hose, slit length-wise and stuffed over that broken glass, may be a friend one day
