Have you considered an urchin? That's one of the reasons I keep some. :)

I did not know that urchins keep glass clean.

It depends on what urchin and what algae you have, but, for example, in my 110g I have a diadema and green urchin and man are they pretty voracious little lawnmowers.

I had a fuzzy type algae growing over coraline on the back glass of my other tank, and a blue tuxedo urchin took care of that pretty lickedy-split. But, it's also an eater of coraline. Although I don't find that to be a problem because what happens is the spores get spread out and thus you have new coraline growth being spread. So it evens out.

I dunno, maybe YMMV but I like having 'em, I find them useful. :)

I missed the urchin class at reef school.:redface: What is a YMMV urchin. Are blue tuxedos' hard to find.

Oh - sorry - YMMV = "Your mileage may vary" -> maybe not all opinions of urchins are like mine, I don't know. They seem to be raspers of hard surfaces. Not a silver bullet for algae control but they definitely help just the same as other herbivores. They seem to be available from time to time.

I might think about losing the caulerpa though. That's a guaranteed headache for you sooner or later (having it in the main display that is). I put some in my tank in 2002 - it still shows up every few months despite I-don't-know-how-many-times I've "eradicated" it. Apparently it's also not good for SPS in close proximity due to allelopathy. (Although I can't say that it looks like your SPS growth is stunted. :) )

Lando, I think I saw that pink birdsnest on frags.org. I'd like a frag sometime :)

As well, do I see the back glass cleaned from the previous pics? My glass looks similar, but I've been hesitant to clean it....mostly because I don't know how. Will there be chunks of stuff floating around the tank?!?!

But your tank looks GREAT. Love all the SPS. And, of course, the Watanabes...if that is what they are.
