    Hi Kien,

The tank is 190 gallons, I worked out how much everything should weigh before I put it in. I forget the exact number but I think it was around 3000 pounds. I was very worried about putting it on the main floor so I did lot's of research and asked a structural engineer for advice. I did not need to re-enforce anything in the basement. The wall right behind the tank is a load bearing wall and the wall to the right is the outside wall. It also spans across three floor joists. When all that was factored in I felt comfortable enough to put it where I did. It's been there for just over two years now, and there is no sign of any problems.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey Mike,

I remember you having a pretty massive tank in your den.. How big as it again, and did you do anything in your basement to re-enforce the ceiling or did you not worry about that?
