I have has a few different tanks over the years. recently it was a 50g sps tank thats was very mature. i had a thread going here for a while. just before i was about to move to my new place i tried to clean the tank by siphoning the sand bed and trying to remove a few years worth of dertrius so the move would be easier. well, i ended up disturbing a few hydrogen sulfied pockets and lost all of my massive sps colonies and half of my fish.
Now i have a 93g cube tank with an ecotech radion and 4 t5's over it. my surviving fish and all my zoanthids are in my new tank with some new small sps colonies that i will try to grow out.
I have a 110 gal DT coral and fish. I agree the local LFS is not suitable for the saltwater hobby. I have met a few people who have been burned by them (not me though). I have been running different tanks over the last 10 years, this one is by far the biggest. I thought 110 gal was going to be big enough, but now I am finding that it is too small...lol. I keep fairly easy to care for corals, zoas and mushroom mainly, but I have a fair bit of lps as well.
