    Hi Rich
I was getting my calcium chloride from BRS, but my last bag is just Dowflake. I would not have switched to Dowflake if I planned to keep the tank going, but I didn't want to pay for BRS shipping. You can get chemicals at Oceanic if they have them in stock, but so many times I go out there and they have nothing. Baking soda I get from Costco. Magnesium Cloride I've had so long I foget where I got it (I bought 2 large bags the time). Besides the 3 majors I dose Iodine and usually Iron. I was dosing strontium with my calcium, but I'm pretty sure thats not necessary. I found with the 400w bulbs it was too easy to cook my corals, and in fact that's exactly what happened to 1/3 of my tank when the outer casing of one of my halides broke. I noticed no difference when I switched to 250s, in fact growth may have sped up a bit for some corrals. 400w was too much light for even some of my acros in the top 1/3 of my tank. Fish get pellet food, with Selcon added 2 or 3 times a week. I find feeding Corral Frenzy a couple of times a week keeps the corrals healthier. I tend to get less incidences of tissue recession when I feed. I do 10% water changes every week. IMO this is the most important part of a maintenance regimen, I always have issues when I neglect this (generally happens every summer).
