I got a tank for free a 230 tank only problem is one of the center braces is melted and broken so I cut it off cant patch it and from what I read it never works anyways. So what I am wondering is can I remove the entire top brace and euro brace this tank? glue or bolt a thick piece of plexi glass to replace the broken cross member or use a steel cable to wrap around the entire top and tight bolts (would have to do this every so often as I imagine it would slack after a while and would have to be careful not to be too tight as to break the tank or 4th and least favorite option figure out who made this tank and order a new brace

Hi everyone,
I have a 32g coralife biocube on its standard flat pack style stand. Not hugely confident in the stand as, despite using the glue, it still wobbles a bit. Its on a laminate floor but think the issue is more with the stand than the floor. Not too keen on trying to reinforce the stand myself. Thinking about just replacing it with something sturdier. Any suggestions of where I could find something suitable? Looking for wood construction. Doesnt have to be anything fancy .... being robust is the main thing. I'm located in vancouver north shore. Cheers.

Sorry but I have to get this off my chest. I am currently un-employed and have been searching for work since May (not that hard through the summer months). I am a licensed automotive mechanic with over thirty years under my belt. Well I posted a resume on indeed and was called to come for an interview. I went to meet with the person who called me. First I had to fill out a application and security check. Then had to write a couple number reading tests. Fine. Then I was interviewed by a lady and was very pleased. She said that I have to talk with the supervisor please wait in the lobby. I see this young fellow come talk to the lady that I just talked to. He hands her some papers and walks away. The lady come over to me and says "I'm sorry we can't hire you. We only hire people with a high school diploma." I got my license in 1986 with a red seal at a time when I did not need a diploma. I figure that with the 30+ years working on equipment that wouldn't be that big of a deal.
I think that because of the no high school I was refused work was strange. I would like to hear your thoughts on this..

I bought this skimmer over 1 year ago. I have never been able to have this unit run like it is supposed to run. When I bought it I was told when first installing it to run it wide open for the first week or so or until it calms down. Well that never happened. It was over flowing like no tomorrow so I shut it down, went to work out of town. I came back thought it was in too deep of water so I lifted it up from 9" to 7-1/2". Let it run started out OK but within the hour it was back to a constant overflow. Again shut it down go back to work for another 21 days. I lifted the unit again to the minimum depth in the noted in the manual 6-1/2". Then tried it again. Started OK the did the same thing went right to overflowing. so I Just unplugged it and let it sit. Now it has been a few months since i tried it. I've changing water and replacing the carbon and Phosguard in the reactors a lot. I lost most of the wild life I had in the tank while having the wife look after it, I'm not blaming I should not have set it up then go out of town for weeks on end. I just about ready to give up. But I'm going to try one more time. If anybody is willing to assist me in setting up this nightmare in Edmonton I will not turn him/her down.
