Shares of the following companies were among those that made notable moves in the U.S. stock market Wednesday. Advancers 3Com Corp. named Robert Mao chief executive officer to succeed Edgar Masri, who is leaving. "To support the company's increasing emphasis on its growing and profitable China-based H3C operations, Mao will be based in China," the company said.
