| 6. After making sure all the engineering was acceptable, I began designing the background. I collected styrofoam through friends, dumpster-diving and appliance stores. I starter out with a couple sheets on styro insulation and cut and sculpted shapes gluing them together with aquarium safe caulk. I would use spray foam insulation to fill in gaps and make various shapes. After sculpting with a knife, a torch was used to round and form the shapes. I built it in sections to carefully secure into the aquarium. |
