Answer |
How do I submit an article or comment?
|
Simply click the relevant button on either the category or article screens. You may need to register before you can submit. The facilities available to you are listed at the bottom of the category and article pages (the You May Add New Articles You May Add New Comments, etc. list)
|
My language is not in the list!
|
The most likely reasons for this are either the administrator did not install your language or someone has not translated this board into your language. Try asking the board administrator if they can install the language pack you need or if it does not exist, please feel free to create a new translation. More information can be found at the phpBB Group website (see link at bottom of pages)

How do I edit or delete an article or comment?
|
Unless you a board admin or privelaged moderator you can generally only edit or delete your own. You can edit an article (sometimes for only a limited time after it was made) by clicking the relevant edit button. If someone has already commented, you will see their text output below. If you can delete the original article you will also be deleting all its comments.
|
Why can't I access a module or category
|
Some modules may be limited to certain usergroups. To view, rate, submit, etc. you may need special authorization which only the priveledged moderators and board administrators can grant, so you should contact them if you have any questions.

BBcode, HTML, Smilies and Images
|
BBCode is a special set of tags which you can use to produce the most popular text-effects. Whether you can use BBCode, HTML smilies or images is determined by the administrators. You can also disable bbcode on a per article or comment basis from the form. BBCode itself is similar in use as HTML in that tags are enclosed in square braces [ and ] rather than < and > and it offers greater control over what and how something is displayed. For more information on BBCode see the forums FAQ page.
There is no facility at present for uploading images directly in your articles with exception of a cover image for reviews, so you need to link with an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.lol.com/image.jpg. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML if it is switched on.

Redirect problem when you login
|
When you login the browser should redirect back to the page where you logged in. There is one known abnormality that will cause this to not happen.
If you are running NIS (Norton Internet Security) it can cause this problem.
It is caused by NIS inserting code into every HTML document in an attempt to "Prevent a Web site from retrieving your email address or the address of the last Web site visited."
You can turn this off by entering the custom settings of your NIS config and un-checking "Enable Browser Privacy".
At this time, this is the only known method to overcome this abnormality, short of un-installing NIS.
If you are running zonealarm, it has to do with one of the block cookie options 'Remove Private Header Information' as soon as you uncheck that everything is normal. Only affects Internet Explorer.
